Port Blair, Apr 25: Today altogether nine flights landed at Veer Savarkar International Airport in which 684 passengers + 14 infants arrived. Out of these passengers, total 10 passengers (4 defense personnel and 6 locals) have been tested COVID-19 positive.
Talking to media persons today at IP&T Conference Hall, the Secretary of IP&T Mr. S K Singh today pointed out that from last one week the average of positive cases in these Islands is nearly 40 and till now 4 deaths have been recorded in last few weeks.
The Secretary said that till last report arrived today nearly 700 vaccinations have been administered in A & N Islands and he added that from 1st May 2021 it is expected that the vaccination number will increase.
“No COVID patient is on ventilator at present, which is one good thing but there are patients who are on oxygen support. As compare to other places death rate is low in these Islands,” the Secretary of IP&T added.
Mr. S K Singh also mentioned that AYUSH hospital is playing vital role in providing homeopathic and ayurvedic medicines so that people stay safe.
