Port Blair, April 22: The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries who visit the centre on a daily basis. Today, 2318 doses of vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 94,560. The vaccination drive is being carried out by the Health Department teams on all days of the week including Sundays and holidays. Besides the ongoing vaccination drives, the Administration is also creating awareness on different forums to sensitize the general public on the need to adhere to COVID appropriate behavior at all time, in order to combat the increasing number of COVID cases in the Islands. Various constructive measures are being taken by the Administration, keeping in mind the safety of the people. With concerted efforts from all quarters coupled with the support of general public, the Islands can once again defeat the dreaded virus and emerge as Corona free Islands, a press release from DHS said.
