Port Blair, Apr 21: Deputy Director of Shipping Services has issued a notice for commuters and general public in which it is mentioned that the Directorate of Shipping Services has decided to curtail the existing passenger/Vehicle ferry service between Chatham – Bambooflat, Chatham- Dundus Point, Phoenix Bay – Bambooflat /Panighat during night hours.
To curb the spread of COVID positive cases in A&N Islands for the safety of the people the District Administration has revised the existing Corona Curfew from 10 pm to 5am to 09 pm to 5 am. The last passenger/vehicle ferry service will be available for commuters during night hours in the above routes as under:-
1. Route no.1- Chatham to Dundus Point
Last ferry from Chatham to Dundas point will be at 1900 hours and from Dundas point to Chatham will be at 1930 hours
2. Route no.2- Chatham to Bamboo Flat.
(Vehicle Ferry I) last ferry from Chatham to Bamboo flat will be at 1900 hours and from Bambooflat to Phoenix Bay via Chatham will be at 1930 hours
(Vehicle Ferry II) last ferry from Bamboo flat to Chatham will be at 1900 hours and from Chatham Bambooflat to Phoenix Bay via Bambooflat will be at 1930 hours
(Passenger ferry) last ferry from Chatham to Bambooflat will be at 1945 hours and from Bamboo Flat to Phoenix Bay via Chatham at 2015 hours
3. Route no.3- Between Phoenix Bay & Bamboo flat
Last ferry from Phoenix Bay to Bamboo Flat will be at 1915 hours and from Bamboo Flat to Phoenix Bay will be at 1945 hours
4. Route no.4- Between Phoenix Bay & Panighat
Last ferry from Phoenix Bay to Panighat will be at 1915 hours and from Panighat to Phoenix Bay will be at 1945 hours
The above schedule will come in force with effect from 22nd April, 2021.
