Port Blair, Apr 16: One tourist, who reached Diglipur yesterday along with nearly five others, has been tested COVID-19 positive today, while conducting mandatory RAT at Diglipur for travelling to Port Blair.
Talking to media, the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan today said that the COVID-19 positive tourist and his family members have been quarantined and wherever these tourists have visited since yesterday, those places have been disinfected.
“People who came in contact with the tourists, have also been quarantined for 14 days,” the DC added.
The North and Middle Andaman District Administration seems to have tackled the situation very professionally.
Meanwhile, taking to Andaman Sheekha Daily the Assistant Commissioner of Diglipur Mr. Ankit Yadav today urged public to verify any news regarding COVID-19 before sharing in social media. “It is a humble request to please clarify from administration before spreading any news regarding Covid-19,” he said.
