Port Blair, Apr 07: The idea of conducting random Rapid Antigen Test of incoming passengers at Port Blair airport has yielding good results on the very first day as today as many as six passengers, who came with negative RT-PCR test report, were tested positive in RAT.
According to details since evening five passengers in each flight were tested randomly with RAT but no positive result came finally in last flight from Kolkata, when all incoming passengers were tested six passengers, 3 Tourists and 3 Islanders, were tested COVID-19 positive.
Altogether 52 RTPCR and 154 Rapid Antigen Tests were conducted at Port Blair airport today and the results are scary.
“This means that in previous days also hundreds of people must have entered Andaman with fake RTPCR negative reports. Many of them might be positive,” said a passenger at airport today.
General public of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are now demanding a thorough and high-level inquiry against some labs in Mainland India by Andaman and Nicobar Police, so that those who are playing with lives of Islanders can be sent behind bars.
