Port Blair, Mar 07: A lot have been said and written advising people to follow COVID-19 protocols but how serious is general public towards following COVID-19 protocols and how serious the Administration is, towards this cause.
On Friday Andaman Sheekha English Daily obtained photographs of JNRM’s vaccination center and it was seen that outside the center hundreds of people are standing without maintaining social distancing. The crowd was overwhelming and it was even beyond the control of police personnel posted there. Such crowds are not only worrisome but are an indication that we are totally careless about following COVID-19 protocols.
Another photograph obtained by Andaman Sheekha English Daily on 06th March shows hundreds of people gathered to find their names in the list for passengers, approved for MV Coral Queen sailing for Campbell Bay. No policeman can be seen nearby to manage the crowd.
Such negligence could prove very dangerous for Andaman and there is an urgent need to take measures to stop such crowding. “General Public understands the need of social distancing but if the system is made such difficult by Administration, General Public has no other option,” alleged and Islander.
