Port Blair, Mar 04: A new scheme by the name of Comprehensive Support Plan was launched by NABARD in collaboration with A & N STATE COOP. BANK LTD. in which a total grant of 96.00 Lakhs will be given by NABARD and rest 24.00 Lakhs will be given by State Cooperative Bank for the purpose of development of Primary Agriculture Credit Societies for capacity building, infrastructure support and business development plans.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament and Vice-Chairman, A & N State Coop. Bank Ltd graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Programme was also attended by Shri V Mashar, GM, NABARD, R.O. Port Blair, Mr. H R Ahmad, ARCS, Ferrargunj, (Circle), Board of Directors of A & N State Coop. Bank, Smti. Jolly James, Managing Director (i/c), A & N State Coop. Bank, Senior Officers of bank and Cooperators, Chairman and other representatives of various Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) representing all the 46 PACS across the Island.
At the outset Smti. Jolly James, Managing Director (i/c), A & N State Coop. Bank Ltd., welcomed the delegates and conveyed special thanks to NABARD for extending comprehensive Support Scheme at A & N Islands for the development of PACS.
Mr. V Mashar, General Manager, NABARD also spoke on the occasion that Comprehensive support plan under CDF is the best scheme ever sanctioned to the PACS working in A & N Islands. He later briefed the scheme in detail for the benefits of PACS and shared his ideology for further development of PACS in the Islands. He also appreciated some of the PACS who had diversified themselves under MSC (Multi Service Centre), like Bharthi, Pema, Bapujee etc.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the MP, and Vice -Chairman, A & N State Coop. Bank in his keynote address expressed heartfelt thanks to GM, NABARD and the entire team for extending Comprehensive Support Scheme to the UT of A & N Islands. He further informed that today is the function exclusively for PACS development. He also requested more PACS to come forward by diversify their business module in support with Coop. Bank & NABARD. He further urged all the representatives of PACS to identify schemes at their local level and get themselves benefited under the Comprehensive Support Scheme. The new Scheme introduced by NABARD shall open a new business opportunity in the field of infrastructure development, IT etc. for overall development of PACS in multi fields. At last he urged all the PACS to come forward and avail the said schemes by joining hands with NABARD and State Cooperative Banks.
