Port Blair, Feb 22: As part of the intensifying Routine Immunization Coverage in these islands the Intensive Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 3.0 started in Nicobar as per the recommendation of MoHFW, GoI. During this one month of IMI in Nicobar district the left out or missed children will be searched and vaccinated at the Health Centers along with the pregnant mothers to achieve more than 90% of coverage for full immunization in the district. A total of 04 pregnant women and one child were vaccinated on the first day under the IMI in various Health Care Institutions across Nicobar District.
In the evening Dr V Candavelou, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary (Health) undertook the review meeting of the stake holders of State Task Force Committee in the conference hall of Secretariat for the IMI 3.0 in Nicobar district. The meeting was attended by the Shri R.N Sharma, Secretary (H), Dr Omkar Singh, DHS, Dr Arpita Dey Representative from WHO, India along with other officials of A&N Administration.
