Port Blair, Feb 18: A surprise visit has been conducted today on 18th February, 2021 by the Revenue team led by Assistant Commissioner (SA), Tehsildar, Port Blair and other field staff at Taylorabad and Bimblitan village and seized a truck carrying earth without Transit Pass at Bimblitan village. The truck has been seized and kept under official custody as per the legal procedure.
A hefty amount as Penalty/Fine has been imposed as per Mines & Minerals Rules 2012 against the defaulters towards illegal extraction and transportation of earth.
People is appealed to refrain from such illegal activities failing which strict action as per law may be taken against the violators under the relevant sections of ANI LR & LRR 1966 and ANI Mines & Minerals Rules 2012 which includes fine & land encumbrances etc. Any information regarding illegal mining or extraction and transportation of earth/Moorum etc may be intimated to the District Control Room over telephone No. 238881/1077.
