Port Blair, Oct 17: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishriu Pada Ray has taken up the issue regarding the of the frequent land sliding caused due to the recent heavy rainfall with the Lt. Governor, A & N islands.
In his letters, he said that due to heavy rainfall in the Islands, landslidding occurred in many parts of these Islands, injuring public and damaging property. He said that the land sliding, Earthquake, Flood etc. is considered to be as a part of Natural Disaster.
Therefore he demanded the A & N Administration that a separate Fund to be provided for relief for the re- habilitation of the victims of such Natural Disaster in A & N Islands. He also requested to provide temporary accommodation to the victims for their survival in the time of such Natural Calamity.
