Port Blair, Jan 21:On 20/01/2021, as part of Police Raising Week celebration, a ‘Drawing & Painting competition’ and ‘Online Talent Hunt Show’ was organized by Police Family Welfare Centre, Police Lines for the wards of Police personnel in 02 Categories 6-12 yrs and 13 -18 yrs. Around 25 tiny tots and teenagers participated in the Drawing & Painting Competition, exhibited their artistic flair by painting their thoughts and ideas on paper on various themes like Save Earth from Pollution, Corona & Nature. Also, around 15 participants in 03 Categories 6-12 yrs, 13 -18 yrs and Adult Category participated in the Online Talent Hunt Show. In view of COVID-19 protocols the competition was organized online.
On the sixth day (21/01/2021) of Police Raising Week, personnel of Traffic unit delivered a lecture on Road Safety to the students and faculty members of Andaman College (ANCOL), 150 students and 15 faculty members attended the lecture and benefitted. The main objective of the programme was to sensitize and make them aware about Traffic Rules & Regulation w.r.t road safety. An inter-company football match competition was also held at IRBn HQ premises. Cleanliness drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan was also carried out at various places by different units of Andaman & Nicobar Police.
North and Middle Andaman district celebrated the day by organizing outdoor games for the police personnel and the local youth at Police stations of Baratang, Rangat and Diglipur. In addition to this, cleanliness activity was also taken up by the staff of police stations. Awareness programmes on POCSO Act and Traffic rules were also organized at Police stations of Kadamtala, Billiground and Mayabunder.
As part of Police Raising Week, open Badminton Competition is being conducted at Campbell Bay with 08 teams and an interactive session with students of GSSS Campbell Bay was also conducted to spread awareness about the Traffic rules and Road Safety measures by the team of PS Campbell Bay. An announcement on road safety was made on the major road junctions at Car Nicobar. PS Nancowrie conducted drawing competition on the theme “Police & Society”.
Tomorrow (22/01/2021), A&N police will organize ‘At Home’ function at Police Line. Also Police Utsav (Virtual), brass & pipe band and PET performance and cleanliness drive under Swachha Bharat Abhiyan at South Andaman District will be organized. North & Middle Andaman will organize an interaction for police personnel and their family members at Bada Khana, plantation of saplings, awareness programme for school students and a meeting with shopkeepers. Also a meeting with fisherman watch group followed by mask distribution, visit for school students to police stations will be organized in Nicobar District.
a stood second & third in the first category and Master Anyul Hayat bagged the first prize, Miss S. Akshitha & Miss Saniya stood second & third respectively in second category in the Drawing Competition.
In the Talent Hunt Show, Miss D.Dharshini bagged the first prize, Miss Tanisha Raj and Master Adarsh Misra stood second & third respectively in the first category (6-12 yrs). Under second category (13-18 yrs) Master Anyul Hayat bagged the first prize, Miss Ankita Mishra and Miss Kajal Paswan stood second & third respectively and under Adult category, Mr. Surya Prakash bagged the first prize, Mr. P. Joga Rao & Mr. G. Ravi stood second & third respectively.
