Port Blair, Jan 20: Andaman and Nicobar Islands received second consignment of COVID-19 vaccine today, containing 6000 vaccines.
Earlier on 13, January 2021, Andaman and Nicobar Islands had received 6500 COVID-19 vaccines in first consignment.
With this, total 12500 vaccines will cover first and second doze of all health workers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In the 1st Phase vaccination, which is presently being carried out, a total of 4687 Health Care Workers across A&N Islands including Health Workers from private sector, along with ASHA workers and Anganwadi Workers will be vaccinated. The 1st phase vaccination will also cover the functionaries of ICMR, Port Blair & the Health Care Workers in Defence, making a total number of beneficiaries to 6132.
As per details the second consignment of COVID-19 vaccine reached Andaman by GoAir Flight number G81305 from Pune this evening, which was received by a team of Health Officials from the Airport.
