Port Blair, Dec 11: Three men, who took Rs. 40,000 as bribe from a Regular Mazdoor of Forest Department after threatening him, posing as Anti-Corruption Officers, were arrested today by a team of Police Station Pahargaon.
According to details on 09 December 2020 afternoon, these three accused targeted a regular mazdoor of Forest Department and caught him laying on a bench at Prothrapur Check Post. These three imposters threatened to lodge official complaint against the Forest Mazdoor for not doing his duties sincerely.
These three imposters then demanded Rs. 1 Lakh as bribe to drop this case and when the Forest Mazdoor said that he has only Rs. 40,000 at home, they took him to his house at Dollygunj and took Rs. 40,000.
Later, when the Forest Mazdoor realized that something was fishy in this entire event, he lodged a police complaint in PS Pahargaon. Following FIR, on 10 December the team of PS Pahargaon identified all three accused persons as Mr. Pushparaj, 25 years, Mr. Krishnan 20 years and Mr. Rohit Lall, 23 years. All accused were arrested today and produced to court, from where they were sent to Judicial Custody.
