Port Blair, Nov 26: The Bharthi Service Cooperative Society Ltd, Ferragunj, Organised a Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Loan disbursement Programme at A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Ferrargunj Branch on 26th November, 2020 in the District of South Andaman.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Anant Rao, Vice-Chairman of Andaman & Nicobar State Coop. Union, Port Blair. The programme was also attended by Mr. Basheer Ahmad, ICS, ARCS Ferrargunj Office, Smti. Swapna Biswas, Chairman of Bharthi Service Coop. Societies, Shri Ajoy Kr. Dass, Ex-Chairman of Bharthi PACS, Smti. Sheela Singh, Branch Manager, A&NSt.CB Ltd, Ferrargunj Branch and Mr. G.Gopi, Resource Person, PACS Dev. Cell, A&NSt.CB Ltd, Head Office and a large gathering of local residents of the area and members of the PACS.
Welcoming the delegates Mr. Ajoy Kr. Dass, Ex-Chairman, Bharthi PACS has sparkle the occasion and informed the gathering about the programme. He further informed that the Bharthi PACS has more than 300 members and there are 120 borrowing members has benefiitted under KCC Loan, he also spoke about PM Kissan schem launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Later he informed about the Non-Credit Business achivements by PACS viz. Bharthi Tour & Travels, Bharthi Cruize Ticketing, Bharthi Train Ticketing, GST Registration, PAN Card service and many online services, offering to the members as well as individuals. This was aimed to facilitate the service to the villagers of Ferrargunj.
Later, the Chief Guest of the Programme Mr. Anant Rao, Vice-Chairman of Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union, Port Blair distributed the Cheques to the beneficiraies under Kissan Credit Card Scheme. Altogether 36 beneficiaries were benefitted. He further emphasized that
The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was introduced in 1998 for issue of Kisan Credit Cards to farmers on the basis of their holdings for uniform adoption by the banks so that farmers may use them to readily purchase agriculture inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides etc.
The further adding to the PM-KISAN Scheme, PM Kisan is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India, It has become operational from 1.12.2018, Under the scheme an income support of 6,000/- per year in three equal installments will be provided to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares. He urged all the farmers and individuals to cover under this fold by enrollement under KCC scheme. In Andaman and Nicobar Islands out of around 22,000 farmers 16,000 farmers were facilitated under PM-Kissan. The A &N State Cooperative Bank alone disbursed the benefits to around 12,000 beneficiaries. Later he appreciated the efforts being taken by the Bharthi Service Cooperative Society, Ferragunj under the Chairmanship of Smti. Swapna Biswas for the welfare of the villagers of the ferrargunj by offering Agriculture Credit, Non Credit Business and other various services.
Further Mr. G Gopi, Resource Person, PDC, A&NSt.CB Ltd informed the gathering about various schemes of Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank and Centrallly Sponsored Schemes.
