Port Blair, Nov 26: The Constitution Day was celebrated at JNRM by NCC Cadets of the Islands with the country wide theme of ‘Ekta Hamari Pehchan’ kick starting the Constitution Awareness Campaign in the islands. Captain Vijay Kumar Trivedi, Commanding Officer, No.1(AN) NU NCC welcomed the Guests and the function commenced with every one, jointly taking Constitution Day Pledge. He apprised the audience on Raising of NCC, its Tri Service Image, Motto, Aim and Core values. He further said that. this time all the Youth Organisations of the Country, such as NCC,NSS,NYKS, Scouts and Guides, and Red Cross etc have come together on common platform and started Constitution Awareness Campaign, Country wide from 17 Nov to 13 Dec 2020 with a common theme ‘Ekta Hamari Pehchan’. In this Campaign, Constitution Youth Club Activities include Pledge taking, lectures, Rallies, Cultural Programmes Online Webinars, Blood Donation Camps, Essay writing, Poster making Competition, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is being undertaken by all youth Organisations in the country.
Col Vivekananda, Commanding Officer, 1 (AN) Indep Inf Coy called upon the NCC Cadets to support & defend the Constitution. He also said that everyone should participate in democratic process and Constitution needs to be understood and upheld, since it forms backbone.
Four SD/SW(Boy/Girl) Cadets of both NCC units spoke at length about various aspects of Constitution. Mr.Venkatesh Kumar Singh of JNRM gave a deep insight in the Constitution of India as Guest Lecturer.
Capt Prajit Menon, Commanding Officer, INS Jarawa, the Chief Guest of the function, lauded the efforts of NCC in training and undertaking Social activities in these Islands. He intimated that he himself is proud to be NCC ‘B’ certificate holder and learned a lot of moral values from his NCC training. He explained the structure of Constitution of India, in 1,2,3,4 method covering basic model of Constitution of India, for easy understanding of cadets.
The function was attended by,Director NCS, LCdr Sadhna, Staff Officer(Edn) of Naval Component, ANC as Special Guest .SLT (ANO) Dr Satyam Setia of JNRM was Master of Ceremony of the function.
Captain Vijay Kumar Trivedi thanked the Chief Guest, Special Guest LCdr Sadhna, Director NCS and the Guests of Media, Mr.Subramani and Mr.Raja of DD and Mr.Patwal and MR Rakesh Chander Lal of AIR, Port Blair, for gracing the Occasion. He thanked Principal and staff of JNRM for facilitating the function at JNRM for the benefit of NCC Cadets. He appreciated efforts of PI staff, ANOs, Care Taker & NCC Cadets in the efficient conduct of the function. The seamless coordination by ANO SLT Satyam Setia and Care Taker Dr V K Sahu was also appreciated.
The function concluded with NCC song sung enthusiastically by cadets and interaction of guests with NCC Cadets.
