Port Blair, Nov 01: Dweep Jantha Party A&N Islands, the newly reconstituted old regional party earlier known as ‘Jan Kranti Party A&N Islands’, held its maiden press briefing today 4 PM at Hotel TSG Emerald under the chairmanship of its president Colonel K V Cherian (Retd) along with its General Secretary Mr. Govind Ram DANICS (Retd) and the founder General Secretary Mr. Prakash Minj.
During the press conference, the President expressed his Party’s Decision to work for the Development of these Islands in all fields such as Political, Socio Economic setup, Employment, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Educational, Public Health and meet the aspirations of the citizens by providing them the basic amenities of water, electricity and Medical Care.
He also explained that presently the Islands are still not enjoying the democracy in its real form but are being forced to accept bureaucracy as its decision maker, against which the Party shall devote their full attention to seek the intervention of the Government of India to establish a democratic setup of administration in any form in the Islands.
Party’s General Secretary Mr. Govind Ram, DANICS (Retd) a learned social worker, who has been nominated as the only spokesperson of the Party further continued to brief the media on the various issues such as Reservation of Employment for locals, implementation of various Central Govt Schemes , Establishment of Separate UT Cadres for Civil Services, Creation of Job Opportunities to the Youth by forming new Border Protection Agencies (On the Lines of Border Scouts) and separating the Fire & Rescue Department from Police , Establishment of an Educational and Sports University in the Islands as well as improving the communication system within the Islands such as construction of Chatham Bridge/ Sea Tunnel , Increase in the ferry services, separating the sea as well as airports from the defence set up etc. The Briefing vas concluded by the declaration of the party’s Motto as “Sab Ki Bhagyadhari – Sab Ki Sajaheedari”.
