Port Blair, Oct 30: Awareness generation programmes on firefighting and disaster preparedness followed by water curtain show were organized by A&N Police Fire Service on 29.10.2020 at Bathu Basthi and on 30.10.2020 at Prothrapur Junction, as part of Police Flag Day commemorative events. Handouts/leaflets on various fire safety precautionary measures were also provided to the public who witnessed the programme. Besides, A&N Police Fire Service released a video namely “Precautions against Fire accidents at Home” on 29.10.2020, with aim to spread awareness on domestic fire threats and to highlight COVID-19 precautions of sanitization, ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori’, mask wearing etc. (https://youtube/IXryXweG_aY).
On 29.10.2020, a cleanliness campaign was also organized by Special Armed Police at Sadhipur market and residential area. The entire staff of SAP actively participated in the programme and ensured all waste-material is disposed off in a systematic manner. All protocols related to prevention and containment of spread of COVID-19 were observed during the events. The events were held under the overall supervision of Ms. Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Superintendent of Police (AP/SAP/Fire/Comm.) & Commandant (HG) assisted by Mr. S.K. Meena, DySP (Fire) and Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, DySP (AP/SAP).
