Port Blair, Oct 30: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Organises Cyber Security awareness camp at Prothrapur on 30th October, 2020 at Namunaghar, South Andaman.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Aziz, Cyber Cell Security, A& N Police. The programme was also attended by senior staffs of Bank and a gathering of local residents of the area and customers of the Bank.
Welcoming the delegates Mr. Rajan Kunju, DGM, A&NStCB has informed that the Bank created an awareness programme through Financial Literacy Programme (FLCs) and village level programme for the villagers and customer regading the safety of the customer etc and we chalk out week long programme specially for the topic of “Cyber Cell Security. He further informed that the today’s world technologies plays a vital role in the life of the common people and booking of gas cylinders also done through smart phone.
Mr. Abhinav Pal, AGM, A&NStCB, has informed that the Bank always informed to our valuable customer through print and electronic media to understand the duties and right of the customer while using the internet banking transaction. The Govt of India took initiative to provide High internet connectivity to these Islands. We have to be are most vigilant while using internet for doing Banking business. He further informed that customer write their secret pin number in the cover of ATM card if its misplace then unknown person can withdraw the entire amount. He requested to the customer not respond to unknown person to share Card Number, Pin Number OTP,. Bank never calls to the customer to ask their OTP and other Banking details.
Mr. Abdul Aziz, Cyber Cell Security, A& N Police in his keynote address urged all the general public and customer be aware and vigilant about the Cyber Crime in these Islands. He has informed that while using ATM card in the ATM and POS machine be careful that any device is attached to machine because there is a chances for clone your card. He requested to the customer that while entering the secret pin of ATM hide with your hand so that no one can see the pin of your ATM card. He further informed that browsing to the other social networking sites do not share your photos, phone numbers to the unknown persons and while purchase and sell of the items be alert and check the sites that how many person are ranked the and details of the sites. The Govt. Of India has introduced a toll free SOS no.112 for all emergency purpose and any problem related to Cyber security they can call to 03192-230668.
Mr. Senthil Kumar, Cyber Cell Security, A& N Police has informed that we have to be aware and alert about the social networking sites and other sites where we are buying and selling our products. We should not share our profile picture and phone numbers to the unknown peoples.
