Port Blair, October 28: An eleven-year-old girl, Betty of Andaman & Nicobar Island, has donated her long hair for the third time, for Cancer patients who are getting treated in the mainland hospitals.
First time at the age of four, Betty had donated her hair to Adyar Cancer Institute. The second time at the age of seven, Betty donated her hair to Madat Foundation, and at the age of eleven, she did it for the third time.
Betty is a student of Carmel Senior Secondary School and is the daughter of Mr. Biju Jacob and Mrs. Swapna Jacob, who had earlier explained to Betty about the value of donating one’s hair to the needy. Betty is said to be the youngest girl in the country to have donated her hair three times in a row.
With this donation, Betty is setting an example for others, who can also help others just by donating their hair.
