Port Blair, Oct 18: Port Blair Municipal Council, conducted 2nd Phase of Awareness session cum Implementation Workshop for Sanitary Workers, followed by Orientation program to Sanitary Inspectors by conducting online Classes & Certification course as per the guidelines of SBM(U), MoUHA, as well as Swachh Survekshan 2021, during the Gandhi Jayanthi month long program to commemorate the Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi & 6th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
During the awareness session, Sanitary workers were asked to focus towards need as well as challenges to achieve waste segregation at source through skit performance which was presented by the Swachhata Awareness Team of PBMC.
The general public are requested to install the Swachhata mobile app for lodging sanitation issues and also requested to handover the segregated waste to ease out the work of sanitary workers for their contribution towards waste processing.
