Port Blair, Sept 9: In yet another pathetic confront with poaching traps set up for animals, on September 9, 2020 regular patrolling was conducted in the woods of Viper Island by the mobile squad staffs of South Andaman Division of Forest Department.
As per the sources, it was learnt that, Mr. Uttam Mistry (FG) alongwith K.N Gungly (FG) and mazdoor namely Monobindro Halder and Ganesh Sahoo during patrolling duty found as many as 15 poaching traps and a dead deer, which fell victim of one such trap.
The team also found a deer calf (fawn) which was later transferred to the Biological Park of Chidiyatapu for the treatment and care.
Animal lovers in Andaman are now demanding FIR against poachers for laying such deadly traps for animals in jungle and arrest of these poachers.
