Mayabunder, July 23: After sighting stagnant water in several chocked drains in Middle Andaman region while on her way to Mayabunder from Port Blair, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, District Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman has instructed the NHIDCL to clear all the chocked drains in the region.
On instructions from the DC, the NHIDCL has immediately instructed their contractors to do the needful as a result of which now the work of cleaning of all the drains has been started.
The residents of Middle Andaman have expressed their gratitude to the DC North and Middle for this quick action. To experience the condition of Andaman Trunk Road herself, the Deputy Commissioner had travelled to Mayabunder from Port Blair via road, instead of Helicopter, it is learnt.
