Mayabunder, July 23: After the District Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan officially confirmed the public through Andaman Sheekha that a ventilator has been placed at Dr. RP Hospital to support Corona patients if required, a few WhatsApp users countered the news terming it as a “Fake News” and claimed that no such ventilator has been placed in the aforesaid hospital.
Surprisingly one WhatsApp user having close link with Mayabunder, used a Fake ID to post such unwanted comment in a WhatsApp group. Although the user was later removed from the group for using Fake ID but his comment created confusion among those who saw his post directly and also among those who saw the post, shared by others. Surprisingly during the time of Pandemic when Administration is trying hard to provide ventilators to even remotest district of these Islands, such rumour mongers are spreading false information among public to create confusion and chaos among Islanders.
“Anyone else who wants to verify is free to visit RP hospital himself and check,” Dr. Chauhan mentioned in a SMS sent to Andaman Sheekha after learning about such comments in social media.
Meanwhile, acting swiftly the District Administration of N & M Andaman has also published the photographs of installed Ventilator and Truenat machine at Dr. R P Hospital, Mayabunder in Twitter for public information.
