Port Blair, July 22: A case has been registered against six youths yesterday night for involving in scuffle, injuring another youth and also for manhandling police staffs on duty.
According to details, yesterday night at around 10 PM when a police team on routine excise patrolling saw a few youths are involved in violent scuffle near Brichgunj Junction, they interfered and send the injured youth to hospital but the other youths, namely Mr. Sandeep, Mr. G Harinarayan, Mr. G Laxman Kumar, Mr. Tufan Kujur, Mr. B Bhuwaneshwar& Ramesh Sharma, who were attacking the injured youths suddenly became violent and manhandles police team consist of ASI Radha Krishanan and PC Ashok Kumar.
As per reports, the police personnel were in plain cloth as they were in excise patrolling and even when they revealed that they are from Police and showed Identity Card, the group of youths remained violent.
When anther police team came with vehicle to take Mr. Sandeep, the main accused to Police Station, his friends again became violent and manhandled this team of police too. They also abused the Police team. Finally anyhow the youths were brought to PS Pahargaon and a case has been registered against them under relevant Acts, including Disaster Management Act.
