Port Blair, July 09: The Port Blair Municipal Council today intimated Islanders that as the water level has increased in Dhanikari Dam to 51.57 mtrs. APWD is willing to supply water to PBMC once in 04 days instead of 06 days, which means that PBMC might supply water once in 04 days soon instead of six days, if everything goes well.
“PBMC appeals use water judiciously, adopt conservation/ preservation methods by using Rain water harvesting,” a tweet message of PBMC said today.
Although it’s a good news but many believes that it is too early to jump the gun and dump the files related to water projects back in cold box. There is a need to dedicatedly work towards completing of atleast some water projects before next year so that in case of failure of Monsoon once again, Port Blair city become ready to face the crisis.
