Port Blair, July 07: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to issue direction to the concerned department to make arrangement for rain water harvesting system at GB Pant Hospital for collection and storage of rain water which would solve to some extent of water scarcity to the patients and other general public. He further said that in the GB Pant Hospital, there is acute shortage of water for the inpatients, outpatients, attendants, medical staff who are around 2300 persons and requirement of water for GB Pant Hospital is about 2 lakhs liters per day and arrangement of water conservation through rain water harvesting system is felt necessary to avoid water crisis in the hospital.
