Port Blair, June 09: A 54-year-old lady Mrs. Lakshmi, a resident of Shadipur died on an Air India flight number AI-549 that arrived here from Chennai this morning.
As per reports, at 0700 hours the flight crews of AI-549 informed the ground staffs and the Airport Terminal Manager that there is a medical emergency onboard flight, following which the assistance of GB Pant Hospital was taken and the lady was shifted to the hospital at 0800 hours but unfortunately the doctors of the hospital declared her brought dead.
Earlier the daughter of the lady at seat number 4E of the flight noticed her mother unconscious who was next to her in seat number 4D.
Andaman Sheekha has learned that the deceased was suffering from cancer and she had earlier traveled Chennai for her treatment.
According to Doctor, who does not want his name to quoted, the patient was too weak and collapsed because of the weakness. The case is not connected to COVID19, the Doctor confirmed.
