Billyground, June 02: On dated 28th May 2020, Andaman Sheekha highlighted the issue of the visiting patients at Primary Health Center Billyground following which the District Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar himself visited the spot today and after finding the matter to be a fact, he directed the staffs of Andaman Public Works Department to construct a temporary shed within two days outside the PHC, with the aim that the patients may not suffer standing under the scorching sun.
As per reports, the DC further directed the concerned Assistant Engineer, Doctors, Patwari and Dr. P.K.Mandal to conduct a joint inspection of the newly constructed OPD block at PHC Billyground and submit the ground report to his office informing the shortcomings.
The DC later instructed the Assistant Engineer, APWD, Swadeshnagar to rectify all the shortcomings if there is any such within 07 days and put up file for inauguration.
“I am hopeful that within 10 to 15 days the new OPD building of PHC Billyground will start functioning,” DC North and Middle Andaman added.
Mr. Awanish Kumar also made a surprise visit in the Integrated farm at Pinakinagar under Hari Nagar Gram panchayat and checked the progress of the project, he directed the MGNREGA official Mr. Govinda Mondal to speed up the work, so that it may be completed within stipulated time.
