Port Blair, May 11: Mr. M.A Sajid, State President of “National Students Union of India”, A&N Islands has raised issues pertaining to college students with the Secretary (Education) on 09/05/2020 vide letter no. NSUI/2020-21/95. The chartered demands includes 1) Passing all the students in Internal Examination and Practical Examination. 2) Resolving Stipend Arrears of all hostellers and day scholars. Mr. Sajid stated that many hostellers belong to poor families basically farmers and labourers due to which they can’t afford transportation expenses to come back at Port Blair. In this time of COVID-19 pandemic if the stipend arrears are provided it will be helpful for the hostellers/day scholars in fulfilling their daily needs. 3) Emphasizing UGC guided online mode of teaching more efficiently through Whatsapp. 4) Sanitizing all the colleges before students come for examination, sanitization should be done every day until exam finishes for all, sanitizers should also be provided to students while entering exam hall. 5) Utilizing Sociology, Psychology and Physical Education teachers in providing information to students through social media regarding maintaining Physical/Mental health. Finally Mr. Sajid requested the Secretary(Education) to fulfill the genuine demands of the students and give necessary direction to the colleges.
