Port Blair, April 12: Careless smoking and short-circuit have resulted in fire incidents in three different Islands of Andaman and Nicobar on 10.04.2020. No injuries have been reported in any of the three incidents, it is learned.
As per reports, a fire incident was reported from a dismantled building of a primary school at Headquarter area, Car Nicobar due to short-circuit, however, the fire was controlled within an hour by the fire service department of the region. Though, the damage was caused to the entire building.
The second incident that took place in the land belonged to Manoranjan Halder of Paresh Nagar, Billyground, Middle Andaman on 10.04.2020. The fire spread to around 2500 square meters area and destroyed all the bushes. The incident was caused due to careless smoking, it is believed. It took more than one and a half hours to control the fire.
In addition to this, one more fire accident was reported from the hilly land that belonged to Sameer Baroi of Prafulla Nagar, Middle Andaman on 10.04.2020. As per reports, again the cause of fire was careless smoking. The fire reportedly spread to 5000 square meters of area and destroyed the greenery of the land. This incident also took more than one and a half hours to come under control.
