Port Blair, April 07: Over 30-40 LPG consumers of Consumer Co-operative Society had to wait for more than two hours yesterday at Corbyn’s Cove CCS godown, to get refilled cylinders.
As per reports, the Police unit at Bathubasti had imposed challan on some workers of Corbyn’s Cove, CCS office following which the workers couldn’t reach their workplace on time, which has resulted in the delay.
All the rules of Section 144 CrPC were seen in violation as dozens of consumers were seen standing and chatting in a gathering without properly maintaining the distance.
However, after the issue was brought into the knowledge of higher officials of the CCS, they took immediate steps and released their laborers who were caught by the Police and were not allowed to move at Bathubasti.
It is learned that laborers reached their workplace at 11:00 am following which the LPG cylinders were issued to all the consumers.
