Diglipur, Sept 10: Computerized reservation centre, PRS was inaugurated today by Mr. Trinad Mistry a Senior citizen of Radha Nagar, Diglipur in presence of Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament of A & N Islands, Asst. Secretary (GA) Mr. Joseph, Chairman Eastern Railway, Mr. P.K.Sinha, Asst. Commissioner Diglipur Dr. Vivek Kumar, Pradhans of all Panchayats and PRI members. The centre will work Monday to Saturday 8 am to 2 pm
Speaking on this occasion, the MP said that this will help the Islanders as well as the tourists. Regarding the Train proposal from Diglipur to Port Blair, he said that it was long pending issue and Ministry of Railway not responding in this matter. The MP thanked the Asst. Commissioner for providing office space for PRD.
While speaking on the occasion, the Asst. Commissioner said that the Islanders would now get benefit of tourist trains like Bharat Darshan etc. being run by IRCTC and Indian Railways’ special trains, luxury trains and other tourist packages apart from PNR enquiries and fare/accommodation enquiries. The programme was coordinated by R.I Mr. Gafoor.
