Port Blair, Feb 21: “The YCOB “Mahatma Gandhi Cup” T10 Night Cricket league was inaugurated by Mr. Subir Chander at Muslim Basti play ground behind Forest Range Office Tushnabad on 21.02.2020. In his address he lauded the efforts of Youth Club Ograbraj and PRI members for their active participation for conducting first ever night cricket tournament in this rural area and expressed his desire to support any sports events in the future as well.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Mr. Sanjib Kumar Mondal, Ex- Adhyaksh, ZPSA as Guest of Honor, Smt. Zubaida Begum, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC, Mr. Mohammed Safique, Pradhan Mithakhari, Dr. Vajpayee, Medical Officer, PHC Tushnabad, Mr. Abdul Siddique, General, Secretary, AMSO and Mr. Vinit Kumar Mourya, SHO, Ograbraj were the special invitees on the occasion.
Altogether 25 teams from different areas were participating in the tournament.
In the opening match NS -IX defeated Parking boys by three runs. Earlier, Mr. Mohammed Safique, Padhan, GPMK welcomed the gathering and Mr. Safuwan, Advisory Member, YCOB was presided over the function.
The tournament is being organized by Youth Club Ograbraj in Association with Gram Panchayat Mithakhari”.
