Port Blair, Feb 05: A five-days Community Living Camp 2019-20 for the trainees of first year B.Ed. and Final Year U.G.Ed. trainees of Tagore Govt. college of Education is underway from 03/02/2020 to 07/02/2020. Shri Sharda Ram, Retd secretary (Scout and Guides ) inaugurated the camp on 3/2/2020 by hoisting the camp flag and administering oath to all the participant.
During this camp ,trainees are being given training on Scout and guides , disaster management , health education ,community living etc. on third day of the camp i.e. 5/2/2020, Disaster or management ,A&N administration has imparted various aspects of disaster management in the forenoon and in the afternoon NDRF personnel had given special training to the trainees for effective disaster management and live demonstration were also carried out at Corbyn’s Cove beach.
As per the guidelines of the Pondicherry university, the college is making all arrangements to adopt one village as a part of extension activities. To complete the process of adopting this village, during the five-days Community Living camp , the trainees are being taken to Ward No.20 under Port Blair Municipal Council to make preliminary studies on educational ,health and sanitation . Once the data is collected and finalized, the college plans to formally adopt the village for its betterment in the field of education, health and sanitation .the residents of ward no.20 are therefore requested to cooperate with the trainees during their field activities. The Ward Councilor has already assured his full support to cooperate in the field activities of the trainees.
The last day of the camp has been dedicated to the theme ‘Swachh bharat’ during which special cleanliness drive will be carried out by the trainees at different pockets of Port Blair Municipal Council the valedictory function of the camp will be held on 07/02/2020.
