Port Blair, Jan 28: In the run up to Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2020, a meeting was held on 10th January, 2020 at 10.00 AM in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioners Office, N&MA at Mayabunder under the Chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands Shri K.R.Meena, IAS. It was attendedbyDistrict Election Officer, N&MA Shri Awanish Kumar, IAS, AROs and AEROs of all three tehsils, along with BLOs, BLO Supervisors and other election related officials of the district.
The Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the progress of SSR and gave suitable directions to all to complete the mandated activities as per the timelines prescribed by the ECI. He also discussed about various events to be undertaken for celebrating 10th NVD in a befitting manner at the district, block and booth level. He stressed on providing awareness to vulnerable sections of the society viz. divyangjans, women voters, senior citizens and centenarian voters etc. so as to promote greater electoral participation in view of the theme of the upcoming NVD “Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy”.
