Port Blair, Jan 30: In the case of purchasing of a RO plant, allegedly in exorbitant rate, nearly a decade back by the South Andaman Zilla Parishad, today three separate teams each headed by an Inspector of Anti Corruption Unit have been detailed to seize all files/part files opened/created in Adhyaksh Zilla Prishad (SA), CEO Zilla Prishad (SA), SE, Zilla Prishad (SA) and SE Circle Office Zilla Prishad (SA).
This was done in connection with the investigation of Case FIR No. 3/19 u/s 7 (C) POC Act of PS Anti Corruption Unit.
It has been learnt that today significant seizure has been made in this regard and this may result in arrest of a few officials and also business owners.
As per sources in this case the RO plant was actually planned for Dhanikhari without selecting proper site and after purchase of the RO plant, allegedly in exorbitant rate, the RO plant was installed somewhere in Wandoor, that too after nearly three years.
