Mayabunder, Dec 20: The Pradhan of Pahalgaon Panchayat Mr. Shibanand Bairagi today said that he would be staging a dharna on 23rd December infront of the office of DC N&M Andaman, along with the villagers of Pahalgaon to press various long pending demands of the region.
In an intimation letter to the Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman, Pradhan of Pahalgaon Panchayat Mr. Shibanand Bairagi demanded immediate arrest of Pradhan, Panchayat Samiti, Mayabunder for attacking him during recent Gram Sabha meeting of Pahalgaon Panchayat.
He also demanded disciplinary action again police personnel who were present during the said Gram Sabha Meeting but went missing during the attack.
His other demands include high level inquiry against AC, HQ, Mayabunder, resolving power problem in the region, resolving drinking water problem in Pahalgaon Panchayat, opening of Kerosine outlet immediately, Proper Bus Service for Pahalgaon, Tugapur and Budha nalla etc.
Meanwhile, the Pradhan of Pahalgaon Panchayat Mr. Shibanand Bairagi has also written a letter to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in which he highlighted the event of last Gram Sabha Meeting of Pahalgaon Panchayat in which he was attacked. Terming the attack as “PRE-PLANNED” he demanded immediate action in this matter.
