Port Blair, Dec 22: Navy Children School (NCS), Port Blair organized its Annual Day function -“Mélange – 2019” at Dr. BR Ambedkar Auditorium on 20th December 2019. It was a splendid display of students’ talent in the field of creative performance through the medium of dancing, singing and acting. Commodore Deepak Bhatia, Chairman, NCS inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.
The Principal, Mrs. Anita Devi, welcomed the audience and spoke about the major achievements of the school in academics, sports and other activities along with technical upgradations carried out during the academic year. This was followed by an enthralling cultural fiesta by around 450 students, starting with a Vandana Dance, followed by engaging acts by the students of primary section showcasing their talent through various international dance forms such as Italian, Salsa, Russian, Arabian and Hawaiian in addition to folk dances of India, namely, Lavani, Bhangra, Sambalpuri and Kollattam and culminating with a skit, “Sarfarosh – A Tribute to the Soldier”, portraying the dedication of a soldier towards the country. The entire show was also interspersed with humorous skits to keep the audience enthralled.
The Chief Guest felicitated the class toppers of 2018-19 and hailed the teachers and students for the excellent enthusiasm, team work and vibrancy. Mrs. Sangita Puri, Headmistress, NCS proposed the vote of thanks.
