Port Blair, Dec 13: Continuing its rigorous efforts in creating awareness to illustrate ill-effects of plastic as part of ongoing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ campaign, Indian Coast Guard personnel conducted ‘awareness campaign for students’ at Andaman College, Port Blair on 14 Dec 19. The budding and aspiring students of Isles were briefed and educated by Coast Guard personnel on ill effects of using Plastic and emphasised on need to protect our environment and eco-system. The Coast Guard personnel displayed placards to attract the attention of the students and called for collaborative efforts to protect the environment. The students bolstered a positive affirmation after understanding the menace of plastic and assured their active participation to the society in making these pristine islands plastic free.
Indian Coast Guard is conducting various special cleanship drives aiming to spread awareness and implementation across the Coast Guard establishments, Government schools and fishing community with a focus on cleanliness and creation of a clean and healthy habitat free of single use plastics.
