Port Blair, Dec 04: Yesterday at 4:00 pm, team National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) which is a Student wing of Indian National Congress, under the direction of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma Member of Parliament and PCC President A&N Islands, Observed Shradhanjali Sabha and Peaceful March to pay homage for Dr.Priyanka Reddy who was brutally raped and burnt alive in Hyderabad.
The rally started from Gandhi Statue via Clock Tower and returned back to Gandhi Statue. The March was led by Mr. M.A Sajid, State President of NSUI and Ms. Mariyam Bibi, Chairperson, Education & Social Justice, Zilla Parishad South Andaman.
Mr.Saurav Nair, Member, Secretariat Student Council & State General Secretary of NSUI, Maheshwaran, President, JNRM Student Council, Reshab Shaw, State General Secretary of NSUI, Anisha Banu, State Vice-President of NSUI, Anick Das, State Secretary of NSUI, Smti. Seema (Social Worker) Smti. Ahliya (Social Worker) Mr.Rajeev State General Secretary NSUI, Mr.Bala Murugan Servai (Social worker)and the members and office bearers of NSUI and hundreds of students from different colleges were present in the rally and Shradhanjali Sabha. Mr. M.A Sajid and Ms. Mariyam Bibi expressed their views on increasing crimes against women and girl child and demanded death penalty for the rapists.
