Port Blair, Dec 03: A minor girl from Little Andaman was reported missing this morning. Later it was found that the girl has taken ticket for Port Blair from Hut Bay and boarded MV Campbell Bay vessel.
As soon as the matter was passed to PS Chatham, the team of PS Chatham, under the leadership of SHO, SI, Gaurav Banerjee swung into action. The captain of the ship was contacted and asked to keep the minor girl in safe custody.
After the vessel reached Haddo Port this afternoon, the girl was rescued and later the girl was safely handed over to the guardians, after completing necessary formalities.
The girl reportedly told police that she left home because her father scolded her.
