Port Blair, Nov 29: C.P.R. Environmental Education Centre (CPREEC), Chennai organized Valedictory program of Green Skilled Development Programme (GSDP) two months certificate course on “Value Addition and Marketing of NTFPs (plant origin): Bamboo handicrafts” at Tagore Government College of Education Auditorium on 27.11.2019. The program was inaugurated by Mr. M. Raj Kumar IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Research and Planning), Department of Environment and Forest, A&N Administration on the occasion. Dr. C. Sivaperuman, Officer Incharge, Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair the Guest Honour on the occasion and in the presence of Mr. J. Chandra Mouli, Assistant Director Mr. MSME, Port Blair and Mr. Kumaravelu, Asst. Director (H), Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GOI, Port Blair. Dr. P. Sudhakar, Executive Director, CPREEC, Chennai given the introduction of Green Skilled Development Programme (GSDP).
During the program, few trainees were shared their experiences in two month course. Mr. Raj Kumar gave away the course completed certificates, Udyog Adhaar registration certificates and tools kit for the trainees and blessed the trainees. Chief Guest highlighted the importance of Green skill development in future such as alternatives of plastics. As a part of program, the trainees displayed their made products as exhibits nearly 35 items like different types of baskets, Mobile stand, Agarpathi stand, candle stand, wall flower vass, bamboo curtain, lamp cover, lamp, Different types of Trays, different types of Jewels etc. The entire guest visited the bamboo crafts made by trainees.
