Port Blair, Nov 27: The South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association will be organising a Mass Demonstration in front of the Directorate of Education, Port Blair tomorrow, Thursday, the 28th November, 2019. The Demonstration is to protest against the luke warm attitude of the Education Department on the genuine demands of teachers and calling for its early settlement which include (i) Regularisation of Ad-hoc services of teachers from the date of their initial appointment (ii) Do away shortage of basic infrastructure facilities in government schools (iii) Posting of regular Heads in schools i.e. Principals, Vice Principals & Head Masters (iv) Timely promotion & Confirmation of teachers (v) Settlement of pending Medical and Transfer TA claims (vi) Revival of Teachers’ Welfare Fund (vii) Grant of permission to teachers for acquiring higher education, etc.
