Port Blair, Nov 20: A large group of villagers of Bimblitan today staged protest against alleged delay and wrong method used by the staffs of Veterinary Hospital, New Bimlitan, during delivery of a calf, which resulted in death of both Cow and Calf.

He said the matter was then reported to the staffs of the New Bimlitan Veterinary Hospital next day morning (on Sunday) following which a staff came to check the Cow at 11:00 AM.
“No doctor came to check the Cow. Later a Compounders came to check the Cow but he came without required equipments,” the owner of the cow alleged.

“Only half the body of the Calf came out, letting the Cow to bear the unbearable pain” alleged the owner of the Cow.
The owner further said that being unsuccessful to bring out the Calf, the compounder went back, assuring that he would come back on Monday.
As per the owner of the Cow, the doctor who came on Monday gave some injections to the Cow but till then the body of the Calf was already decomposed inside the Cow’s body as the Calf was died a day before.
“Out Cow is not only our source of income but a part of our family. We worship cows. My family members were crying to see the kind of treatment given to my Cow,” said the owner of the Cow.
