Roni Antony and Sarthak Kanjilall Port Blair, Nov 04: Entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been given ‘open defecation free zone’ tag but the male toilet block of the Passenger Hall at Junglighat Jetty is under lock since last 02 days forcing the male visitor to relieve themselves in open. Many male tourists who come to the Junglighat Jetty to visit Ross, North Bay Island find themselves under trouble after finding the male toilet block locked inside the passenger Hall of Junglighat Jetty. “We were asked to rush to Junglighat Jetty in the early hours so that we don’t miss the ferry. I had planned to use the toilet block at the Jetty but after seeing the closed toilet block I am really under pressure now,” said a male tourist. As per reports, since last 02 days the male toilet block of the Junglighat Jetty has been kept closed. When Andaman Sheekha asked a person working in the canteen of the passenger hall about this, he said that the toilet block is not open because some issues with the contractor. Andaman Sheekha also tried to connect with the authorities of the Port Management Board but PMB officials were not available for a comment.
