Port Blair, Nov 01: To mark the momentous occasion of culmination of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and also to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s resolutions, the Bharatiya Janata Party has nationally launched the “Gandhi Sankalp Yatra” on 2nd October, 2019 and same will culminate on the 30th of January, 2020. During this Yatra, all party Member of Parliaments, State President, Office Bearers, Public representatives and party leaders are required to travel a distance of 150 KMs in their constituencies. Likewise the A & N Islands unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has also organized Gandhi Sankalp Yatra at different places covering 150 KMs area. Those areas are within Port Blair City, South Andaman, Diglipur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Little Andaman, Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep. During the Yatra various programmes were held at different places, such as Planting of nsaplings, Speech on Ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and Speechs on Nasha Mukti. In A & N Islands, the Yatra was launched by Shri. Vishal Jolly, State President BJP, and the Yarta were started from Gandhi Statue @ 150 – Near Velodrum on 01st November, 2019. The Yatra started from Gandhi Statue @ 150 – Near Velodrum at 4. PM. The Gandhi Sankalp Yatra was flagged off under the leadership of the Shri. Vishal Jolly Ji, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, A & N Islands, in presence of large numbers of State BJP Leaders and Karyakartas. The State In-Charge of Gandhi Sankalp Yatra, Shri. K. Ramdas together with Port Blair City In-Charges and Co-In-Charges keenly participated in the rally. The route of the Yatra was Gandhi Statue @ 150- Near Velodrum being the starting point and the same proceeded covering Clock Tower, Hanuman Mandir Junction, Bengali Club, BJP Bhawan (Middle Point), Goal Ghar, Delanipur, Phoenix Bay, Light House Junction and Gandhi Statue (MOhanpura). During the Yatra, plantation of saplings was organized/arranged by the Port Blair City Co-In-Charge Shri. Aziz-ur-Rehmen at Goal Ghar, Opposite to Gyan Kendra Tuition Centre. Thereafter at the time of conclusion of yatra, speech was delivered at Gandhi Statue-Mohanpura on the “Ideology” of Mahatma Gandhi by the State Presiden, Shri. Vishal Jolly and thereafter a speech on the issue of “Nasha Mukti” was delivered by Shri. Anil Tiwari, Convenor-Prashikshan Cell. The programme thereafter concluded by distribution of refreshments.
