Port Blair, Oct 15: To promote road safety norms and their compliance, Mr. Hukma Ram, SDPO Diglipur along with Inspr. Pritam Behari, SHO PS Diglipur, Inspr. K.S. Tiwari, SHO PS Mayabunder and SI Roshan George, SHO PS Kalighat, organized an awareness programmes in Diglipur Sub-Division. During the programmes, Pradhans & PRI Members, representatives of Auto Union, Truck Union, Merchant Association of Diglipur & Kalighat area were called and they were made aware about the new norms and penalties under the amended Motor vehicles Act 1988. Main focus of this campaign was to spread awareness about road safety amongst general public. They were also sensitized about the consequences of drunken driving.
All the members who participated in the above campaigns were urged to follow the traffic rules and also make others aware of new norms and penalties under the amended Motor vehicles Act 1988 amongst the general public and its consequences.
