Port Blair, Sept 25: Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which was launched during September, 2018 has now completed one year of implementation. The scheme envisages providing cashless treatment worth Rs. 5 Lakhs per family per year to eligible families in empanelled public and private hospitals across the country. To mark the occasion, Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada is being observed from Sept 15 to 30, during which, various awareness generation activities shall be conducted to reach the beneficiaries of the scheme.
As part of the fortnight, a rally was recently conducted at Car Nicobar which was flagged off from B J R Hospital by Dr. K. P. Felicitus, Chief Medical Officer. The participants carried banners and placards with important messages about the scheme like the toll free number to get information about the scheme and importance of generating the e-card (Golden Records). About 75 people including health staff, Anganwadi workers and ASHAs participated in the rally.
Ayushman Bharat Diwas was also observed at BJR Hospital Car Nicobar. On the occasion, Dr. Anwar Moosa, Medical Superintendent distributed Golden Records to Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries. Dr. Johnson, SMO and Dr. Sahina, SMO also spoke about the benefits of the scheme during the function. A special drive is being conducted to generate Golden Records to the Ayushman Bharat Beneficiaries of the Island. 170 Golden Records were generated between Sept 21 and 24, 2019.
