Port Blair, Sept 22: A meeting of all the elected members of Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman will be held at 11.00 AM on 04th October, 2019 in the Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Mayabunder (near Murugan Temple) for the election to the office of the Adhyaksh/Adhyaksha and Up-Adhyaksh/Up-Adhyaksha for the 5th year term of Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman commencing from 11.10.2019.
Oath will be administered to the newly elected Adhyaksh/Adhyaksha and Up-Adhyaksh/Up-Adhyaksha on 10.10.2019 at 11.00 AM in the Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Mayabunder (near Murugan Temple).
Under sub-section (6) of Section 150 of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Panchayats) Regulation, 1994, the offices of the Adhyaksha/Adhyaksh for the first & third year of the Zilla Parishad shall be reserved for women and for the fifth year in favour of a member, if any belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. Since, no member belongs to Schedule Tribes exists in the Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman and hence the present term may be treated as no reservation/General category.
