Port Blair, Sept 22: C.P.R. Environmental Education Centre (CPREEC), Chennai organised inaugural program of Green Skilled Development Programme (GSDP) two months certificate course on “Value Addition and Marketing of NTFPs (plant origin): Bamboo handicrafts” at Tagore Government College of Education Auditorium. The program was inaugurated by Smti. Jayashree Ardey Chauhan IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Planning & Development), Department of Environment and Forest, A&N Administration on the occasion. Mr. Ajit Anand, Director, Department of Industries was the Guest Honour on the occasion and in the presence of Dr. Jayakumar, Principal, Andaman College & Director, Forest Training Institute. Dr. P. Sudhakar, Executive Director, CPREEC, Chennai given the introduction of Green Skilled Development Programme (GSDP). Mr. Joju P. Alappat, Director of Forest Training Institute interacted regarding the bamboo and its importance among the participants. Mr. A. Gopal, Project Officer, CPREEC, Port Blair proposed vote of thanks.
